Sarajevo Times: Database of active Cases of Persons Missing during War in the former Yugoslavia launched. “The International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) and the Group on Missing Persons (GNO), which consists of domestic institutions responsible for issues of missing persons from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Montenegro and Serbia, as part of the Berlin process, today in The Hague, will publicly launch the Database of active cases of persons missing as a result of armed conflicts on the territory of the former Yugoslavia.”

Balkan Insight: BIRN Launches Balkan Terrorism and Foreign Fighters Database. “The Terrorism and Foreign Fighters Database, which was launched on Friday by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, contains comprehensive information about court verdicts for domestic terrorism in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia. It also includes verdicts from the trials of people accused of going abroad to fight for the so-called Islamic State and other militant groups in Syria and for pro-Russian separatist forces in the conflict in Ukraine.”

Balkan Transitional Justice: BIRN Awards Grants to Explore War Crimes Archives. “The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network has selected 20 journalists, historians, artists and activists to receive grants to create small projects based on the archives of the UN war crimes tribunal in The Hague and domestic courts in former Yugoslav countries. The recipients of the grants will conduct research, collect documents and dig deeper into the courts’ archives.”

Balkan Transitional Justice: BIRN Offers Grants to Explore War Crimes Archives. “The Balkan Investigative Reporting Network has launched a call for proposals for small projects by journalists, artists, historians and civil society activists covering topics related to the archives of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia and domestic courts in former Yugoslav countries that dealt with war crimes cases. BIRN said that it is seeking projects that will creatively use courts’ archives in order to promote truth, justice and accountability in the Balkans.”
