CNN: Facebook bans Louis Farrakhan, Milo Yiannopoulos, InfoWars and others from its platforms as ‘dangerous’. “Facebook announced Thursday afternoon that it had designated some high-profile people, including Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who’s notorious for using anti-Semitic language, and right-wing conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, as ‘dangerous’ and said it will be purging them from its platforms.” I am so cyncial about Facebook at this point that I thought, “Oh, I guess Facebook did something that’s about to be revealed and this is some kind of proactive ‘we’re taking active measures’ release.” I don’t know that there IS anything to be revealed, just that I don’t think the company as an entity is operating from any positive motives.

TechCrunch: Twitter now lets users appeal violations within its app. “Twitter today announced a new feature that will allow users to appeal directly within the Twitter app a tweet that’s in violation of Twitter’s rules. When users post content in violation of Twitter’s guidelines, that tweet can be flagged or reported, resulting in an account suspension or lockout. Before, users would have to visit an online form to appeal Twitter’s decision.”
