City University of New York: Using Google Street View to analyze food retail in the Bronx. “In a study published recently in the journal Health and Place, a research team led by CUNY SPH Associate Professor Nevin Cohen used Google Street View (GSV) to verify the status of food retailers listed in a New York State database of licensed establishments in the Bronx from 2008 and 2017. GSV images enabled the researchers to identify discrepancies in the state database and to measure store openings and closings over the decade, as well as changes in store brands and types.”

New York Daily News: Nearly half a million U.S. naturalization records from the Bronx and Queens to become available online. “More than 400,000 naturalization records from the Bronx and Queens will become available online as part of a new project funded by the feds. The three-year, $872,000 grant from the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration will pay for the Bronx and Queens County Clerks offices to upload thousand of records online and then promote them.”
