ZDNet: Update Drupal ASAP: Over a million sites can be easily hacked by any visitor. “Developers of popular open-source CMS Drupal are warning admins to immediately patch a flaw that an attacker can exploit just by visiting a vulnerable site. The bug affects all sites running on Drupal 8, Drupal 7, and Drupal 6. Drupal’s project usage page indicates that about a million sites are running the affected versions.”
eWeek: Whitehouse.gov Moves From Drupal to WordPress in CMS Shift. “Eight years ago, the Obama administration chose an open-source content management system to power the whitehouse.gov website. In 2017, the Trump administration also chose an open-source CMS, albeit a different one from what has been in use since 2009.”
Found this in my Google Alerts: Turn Your Drupal Site Into Google Home. “I’ve dreamed of a day when systems start to work like the home automation and listening (NSA Spying…) devices that people are inviting into their home. ‘Robots’ that listen to trigger words and act on commands are very exciting. Anti-linkrot tool Amber is now available on Drupal. “The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University is pleased to announce that Amber, an open-source software tool that preserves content and prevents broken links, has been promoted to full project status on Drupal.org. When installed on a blog or website, Amber can take a snapshot of the content of every linked page, ensuring that even if those pages are interfered with or blocked, the original content will be available. “
