Indianapolis Public Library: Digital Indy Reveals Indianapolis Public Schools Architecture Collection. “The Indianapolis Public Schools Architecture Collection spans three centuries and includes documents from the 1890s through the 1970s. The educational priorities of various time periods are reflected in the design of buildings and how they were used. For example, school floor plans that highlight what was taught in classrooms during various time periods reveal rooms designated for clothing laboratory, cabinet making shop, and other subjects that are hard to find in modern schools.”

RTV6: Indianapolis police and fire history goes online. “If you enjoy Indianapolis history, this is for you. A collection of materials from the Indianapolis Fire Department and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has been digitized and is available online. The collection, which includes some items dating back 150-years, was unveiled Monday at the Central Library. There are log books, dispatch recordings, personnel records, newsletters, historical photos and prisoner mug shots.”

Fox59: IPS digital collection will launch this week with access to photos and files dating back to 1800s. ” Thousands of files and pictures depicting the history of Indianapolis Public Schools will be soon be available online. As part of The Indianapolis Public Library’s Digital Indy collection; researches, educators and alumni will be able to access archived items stretching back to the 1800’s. Downloadable items represent the 120 elementary and high schools that have comprised IPS and show the role they’ve played in shaping the city of Indianapolis.”

University of Indianapolis: University Of Indianapolis Unveils New Enhanced Digital Mayoral Archives. “The University of Indianapolis has unveiled a digital tool that enables students, educators and the general public to easily access information about four decades of Indianapolis civic history. As part of its efforts to connect its vast collection of resources with a broader audience, the University’s Institute for Civic Leadership & Mayoral Archives launched ‘Digital Backpacks,’ a free interactive feature in which a user can create a folder with various items from collections amassed during the administrations of Indianapolis mayors since 1968.”
