The Next Web: Here’s everything Google revealed at its Pixel 3 event

The Next Web: Here’s everything Google revealed at its Pixel 3 event. “Google today held its annual Made By Google event, where it showed off its newest toys. While it’s true we got a glimpse of most of them ahead of time thanks to copious leaks (which Google themselves lightly poked fun at during the opening segment), it was still fun to see them in action. Here’s what it announced.”

WaPo: Google may have missed a big chance to become a major smartphone maker

Washington Post: Google may have missed a big chance to become a major smartphone maker. “Since its October launch, Google’s Pixel phone has received rave reviews, and Google recently confirmed to the Android-focused publication Android Pit that it will release a new Pixel this year. Yet despite these successes, it seems the phone may be experiencing some trouble on the sales front and may have missed an opportunity to capitalize on competitors’ missteps.”

Freezing Issues With Pixel?

First I was reading about audio issues with the Pixel… and now freezing issues? “In the last week my Pixel has been really quite bad, matching up with reports online that Pixel owners have been having their phone freeze, and you can’t do anything with it – and it takes up to 60 seconds before the phone starts working, very randomly. The only way to get out of it is to hard reset Pixel by pressing the power and volume down buttons at the same time, and holding them down for 10 seconds.”

Walt Mossberg Likes Google’s New Phone

Walt Mossberg digs Google’s new phone. “After testing the historic phone since last week, I can say that the Pixel is very, very good. In its first try, Google has landed itself in the same class as Apple’s iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy S7 (that company’s non-exploding model). Like those formidable competitors, it’s comfortable and practical; fast and fluid; takes very good pictures; and is connected to a strong ecosystem.”
