Portugal and Spain lead with 822 and 383 old vineyards registered respectively. The United States comes in third with 334 vineyards, followed by Australia and France with 208 and 142 respectively.”

The idea is to create a database of legitimate brand labels. Whenever you see an Australian wine in a store, you can use that database to check if it really was legally exported.”

Government of Australia: Bottle label directory to protect wine industry. “Legislation passed parliament yesterday enabling Wine Australia to establish a Wine Export Label Directory to help wine brand owners protect their export wine labels against copycat labelling. Minister for Agriculture David Littleproud said the passing of the Wine Australia Amendment (Label Directory) Act 2020 will lead to the creation of an online database of all Australian export wine labels.”
Neowin: Snapchat now lets users scan food and wine labels. “Now, Snapchat is adding support for food and wine labels to its visual search lineup, with the app’s in-app camera now being able to scan packaged food and wine labels to surface information regarding the product. The feature should work like other standalone food and wine apps, which display nutritional details when barcodes are scanned via the camera.”

Wineries that can no longer count on tourist visits are replacing in-person events with online campaigns. Restaurants that boasted expansive wine lists now tout their to-go cups.”

ESPN: Inside the NBA bubble’s unofficial wine club. “IN THE DAYS leading up to the NBA’s Florida reboot, New Orleans Pelicans guard JJ Redick contemplated what provisions to bring for a stay in the Orlando bubble that would last at least five weeks. He initially focused only on the necessities and packed light. Then on July 8, once he arrived with the Pelicans at their appointed hotel, the Yacht Club, Redick gauged his room and hotel amenities.
